Please note these signs do not conform to BS5499 Part 4 and Seton would advise BS5499 compliant signs to ensure you satisfy the Health & Safety (Safety Signs & Signals) Regulations 1996
EC Emergency Exit Signs - Directive 92/58/ECC
  • Illustrated in the regulations as the minimum requirement to comply
  • There is an obligation for all building occupants to understand and know the meaning of signs – there is some confusion about the meaning of these signs and how they are applied
  • For an excellent description of the meaning, action and application of signs we recommend you read the BS5499 series of standards
  • Managers have an obligation to train all staff in the meaning of signs and actions to be taken in conjunction with signs
